Bloomfield is home of the Thomas Cadmus house which was built by the revolutionary War Lieutenant, Thomas Cadmus. The historical home was also visited by America's very own George Washington in 1778. Bloomfield became a township that belonged to the Essex Count on March 23rd, 1812.
