This neighborhood developed in the 1920s and it was mostly for the employees working in the Duisenberg automobile plant. Initially this neighborhood was heavily settled by the Irish and now the Portuguese. Today this area is vibrant with diverse cultures all around it is also conveniently located has it provides its commuters with easy access to New York and Newark both through public transportation and accessible routes such as route 1&9 and the NJ Turnpike.
